An antisocial dog has reportedly found a family thanks to a Facebook post that went viral in Texas.
The animal – whose name is Eddie – is described as an “asshole” by the Humane Society of Wichita County Animal Shelter.
“Eddie hates other dogs, he weighs 17 pounds and could take on a Rottweiler and win […] We want Eddie out of here because he is scaring our big dogs,” the Nov. 16 post reads.
The organization adds by comparing the dog to a Bronx wife beater who could beat five men in a bar without spilling his beer.
“So if you think you are man enough to adopt him, be our guest,” the shelter concludes.
Incidentally, this release, which could have discouraged anyone, worked, because eight hours later Eddie was adopted.
“We are thrilled to say that our “Asshole” dog has found his forever home! As long as they keep him well supplied with cigarettes and beer and keep him away from the bulldogs guarding him on the other side of the yard (although I’m pretty sure he can handle that just fine). As long as they overcome it, everything will be fine!” emphasizes the refuge in the social network.
To help Linda Brooks and her daughter Taryn, the dog left the Humane Society of Wichita County. His new family received so much attention that they decided to create a Facebook page for him – Ahole Eddie – which already has thousands of followers, Fox 4 reported.
One could say that it was the harsh comments that led to the adoption of the one-year-old dog. In fact, the animal shelter had shared photos of the animal two weeks earlier and then presented it with more tender words – but to no avail.
“This dachshund mix is Eddie! He’s about a year old and a little nervous at the shelter, but once he makes friends with you he’s very cute! He has very gentle manners and we look forward to finding him a good home,” it said.
Only after revealing the cruel truth about Eddie did he find a family.
