Windows 10 and 11 offer a free application called Mobile Connected (Phone Link) with which we can connect, manage and use our iPhone or Android phone. We can make phone calls, write and receive text messages, and then view our notifications from our computer. Android devices can even stream their photos. We will explain to you how to integrate your phone into the application.
In certain circumstances, it can be particularly convenient to connect your phone to your computer.
Especially when working when you can centralize everything in one place.
Or for personal use, when we can respond to a text message much faster by typing the reply on our computer keyboard instead of our phone.
Whatever the reason, Microsoft offers a free application that allows us to manage our phone from our Windows 11 computer.
How do I connect to Windows 11 and access my phone on PC?
Microsoft initially launched the app under the name “Your Phone”. Since the launch of Windows 11 they have decided to change the name: Mobile connected or in English: Telephone connection.
It allows us to connect our iPhone and/or our Android phone directly to our computer via Bluetooth. Because yes, you can connect two at the same time.
However, the functionalities differ between iPhone and Android.
On an iPhone, the Mobile Connecté application allows us to:
- View our notifications
- Send and receive text messages
- Make and receive telephone calls
On an Android phone, the Mobile Connecté application allows us to:
- View our notifications
- Send and receive text messages
- Make and receive telephone calls
- View and manage our latest 2000 photos
Where is the Connected Mobile app on Windows 10 and 11?
If the application does not already exist on our computer, we can install it through the Microsoft Store.
By clicking on the Windows logo in the taskbar we find the Microsoft Store icon.
We open it and then enter “Mobile Connected” or “Phone Link” in the search bar, depending on the language in which we have configured our computer.
Then just install the application.
How do I connect and use my Apple iPhone with my computer?
It’s easy to connect your iPhone to your computer using the Mobile Connecté application.
After opening the application, you must select: iPhone as a device.
The application generates a QR code for us, which we scan with our iPhone.
The QR code then invites us to download the application: Link to Windows in the App Store.
We must therefore download the application and then open it. We then choose the option: Read QR codethen we scan the QR code generated by Mobile Connecté again on our computer.
We then authorize the connection via Bluetooth and that’s it!
How do I connect and view my Android phone to my PC?
On an Android phone, Microsoft adds a few steps to connect your device to the Mobile Connected app.
We start by opening the application on our computer and then select: Android as device type.
Connected Mobile will then display a QR code that we must scan with our phone.
An alphanumeric code will then appear on our computer screen. So we have to enter it on our phone.
Then we must log in to our Microsoft account and therefore enter our account password.
Once we have made the connection, our Android phone is actually connected to our computer.
How do I make calls from my computer?
Unless our iPhone or our Android phone is connected to our computer, all we have to do is open the Connected Mobile application to manage the different actions.
In particular, we can make calls by clicking on the “Phone” tab or manage our text messages from the “Messages” tab.
