Since the bouquet is often the first idea of many for the celebration of lovers, many stopped off at Gauthier Fleurs et Jardins in particular during the day.

“People have been moving since this morning. We have customers very early on. There’s the phone that’s also been ringing all weekend and all of last week,” said Lise Gauther, general manager of Gauthier Fleurs et Jardins.

With so many orders to prepare this year, all forces had to be concentrated in the workshop. “Today we can say that there will be nobody who will become unemployed,” exclaimed Ms Gauthier, laughing.

Chocolates are also popular on February 14th. The owner of DavidChoco, recently installed in Trois-Rivières, even opened its doors an hour earlier than expected to serve customers.

“It’s crazy. Totally crazy, but at the same time everyone comes to get their little fortune and give it away, so it’s great,” marveled the owner, David Gagné. On Tuesday, given the constant traffic in his shop, it was no longer possible Ask to make the confection that was ready the day before.

The restaurants, like Angéline in Trois-Rivières, are practically full in the evenings. The same goes for Le Grill restaurant, Le Buck: Gastro Pub and Le Temps d’une Pinte, all expecting a very busy evening.

Even at the counter of the sushi shop in Trois-Rivières, the staff is overwhelmed. “We started two hours ago last night and there are staff rolling our fridge and our orders,” replied one staff member, Bella Faisy. Almost an hour after opening, the turnover for a normal day was reached.

At the end of the day, many decided to relax for a moment. Spa, massage or overnight stays are very popular again this year at the Kinipi Nordic Spa & Lodging.

“We’ve been full since yesterday morning,” said sales and marketing manager Joannie Lefebvre.

“That will last until this weekend. I would even say at the beginning of the week, then the next few weekends will also be pretty crowded for the little stragglers who might have forgotten,” she said, laughing.

So it’s an army of workers from all areas who have been working for days to offer lovers a romantic evening.
