Referring to shocking text messages she’d seen, the 62-year-old actress spoke candidly about the nasty things she’s been called in previous relationships.
These revelations came at the end of her month-long sober January campaign, during which she abstained from alcohol. Bertinelli has also said that the cleanse has given her the ability to look at her mental health.

In her latest clip, Bertinelli jumped on a viral trend, saying, “Oh my god, oh my god, why did you do that?” before adding, “I don’t know.”
During the “oh my god” portion of the audio, the screen read, “why did you let her stay after you found the lyrics?”
However, it is unclear which text messages the mother-of-one was referring to.
The One Day at a Time actress captioned the short clip with three melting-face emojis.

Valerie tied the knot with businessman Tom in 2011, but after 11 years of marriage, the actress filed for a legal separation in November 2021. In May 2022, she took another step and filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.”
The Hot in Cleveland star had to pay more than $2 million to finalize the divorce.
For the past month, as she’s been practicing dry January, Bertinelli has opened up about the horrible things she’s been called in past relationships.

Finally, in her latest update, Valerie said that while she was on her last dry day in January, she’s not sure she’ll start drinking again any time soon
“I’ve been yelled at so many times and told how fat and lazy I am,” she said in a video posted to her Instagram story on Monday. “I realize … that was someone who was just projecting onto me what he needed to project onto me, but my part in all of this was believing it, and I don’t believe it anymore. But it still doesn’t stop the feelings coming up and the pain.’
Referring to her own mental health, she added, “I have to feel. Because I used to try to calm her down or at least try to ignore her with food or alcohol. And I don’t want that anymore. Wow, so many feelings come up.’
Bertinelli also admitted that she uses therapy to solve many of her problems.
In her latest update, which came after her clip referencing lyrics, Valerie said she wasn’t sure she’d start drinking again anytime soon, despite being on her last dry day in January.
“Maybe I’ll have a cocktail on Saturday because I have dinner, but other than that I think no, I’m going to keep it going for a while,” she said.
