A dog was found dead on a Vancouver street Friday afternoon after allegedly being thrown out the window of a nearby apartment building.
Vancouver police were called to the area of Main and Hastings streets near the Molson Hotel around 2 p.m. Friday to find a dead dog in a driveway, CityNews reported.
According to police, the dog may have been thrown out the window of one of the adjacent apartments.
“Our investigation is currently trying to establish how the dog fell and whether it was thrown or not. “We believe it is entirely possible that the dog was thrown through a window and we are in the process of collecting additional evidence that may help us understand the incident,” a police officer said on Monday.
Investigators viewed videos from surveillance cameras, spoke to witnesses and notified the SPCA, which, according to media, is also investigating.
“It’s worrying for everyone. It's troubling for our first responders, troubling for the witnesses, for the people who live in the building, and it will be troubling for anyone who hears this story in the media. We take [la situation] Seriously,” the police officer added.
