The 32-year-old, No. 123 in the ATP rankings, is expected to compete in third place in the tournament, which takes place from November 14 to 20 at the René-Verrier indoor tennis court.

A former Top 25 member, Pospisil has made great strides in recent weeks. Since the end of September he has notably reached the final at the Challenger in Mouilleron-le-Captif, the semifinals in Ismaning and the quarterfinals in Tel Aviv.

Two other Canadians – indeed Quebecers – have confirmed their presence in Drummondville. Alexis Galarneau (225th) and Gabriel Diallo (250th), who are playing the best season of their young careers, will be in action.

“The National Bank Challenger in Drummondville is an incredible platform to showcase our Canadian talent. The presence of Vasek, Alexis and Gabriel will continue this faithful tradition,” said Tournament Director Francis Milloy in a press release.

Over the years, several rising stars of Canadian tennis have competed in this event, now in its seventh year. Félix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov, winners of 2017, were there.

Ecuadorian Emilio Gomez (107th) will be the favorite of the tournament. Other players such as the American Michael Mmoh (111th) and the German Dominik Koepfer (174th) are also being observed.
