Pope Francis appointed Spanish priest Aitor Jiménez Echave, CMF, as undersecretary of the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life. The Vatican announced this on Thursday.

Father Echave was previously an employee of the same curial institution. He was born on December 29, 1962 in Luchana-Baracaldo (Spain). On September 13, 1987, he made his final profession at the Congregation of the Missionary Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and was ordained a priest on April 30, 1989.
He obtained his doctorate in Utroque Iure and his doctorate in theology of consecrated life from the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. He holds several degrees, including one in Eastern Canon Law. Since 2006 she has worked at the Dicastery for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
