In addition, the Laval police team confirmed to TVA Nouvelles that the operation at the Sainte-Rose daycare center was the most important in its history.
“In the beginning, it’s really a bailout. It’s an operation with a high emotional content, since the children are involved. We wanted to make sure that anyone who was a direct or secondary witness and needed help could get help. The advantage of being on site is that certain obituaries had to be made, so we were able to do the obituaries in the presence of the police,” mentions the head of the social emergencies department of the Laval police, Martin Metivier.
The psychosocial team receives around 7,000 calls a year and meets around 4,000 people.
