This was announced after a meeting this Tuesday between the Executive Vice President of the South American country, Delcy Rodríguez, and the President of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Zheng Shanjie.
The meeting took place as part of the XVII. The China-Venezuela High-Level Joint Commission was held and the parties discussed the progress of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which began in 1974 and became strategic after the start of the Bolivarian Revolution in 1999.
Rodríguez and Zheng also discussed the growth prospects of both nations through mechanisms that contribute to common development, according to the principle of complementarity, official sources reported.
The Venezuelan Minister of Economy, Finance and Foreign Trade was accompanied during the dialogue by the Vice President of Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez. the Chancellor Yván Gil and the Minister of Petroleum Pedro Tellechea.
The head of the Office of the Presidency and Governance Oversight, Jorge Márquez, and the deputy of the National Assembly, Nicolás Maduro Guerra, also took part.
Zheng has been Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission since March 12, 2023, Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in Anhui Province, and held positions of trust in the CPC Secretariat of Zhejiang Province.
He also held assignments in the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee.
The National Development and Reform Commission is a macroeconomic administrative body that influences administration and planning and whose functions include evaluating and formulating policies for economic and social development.
