CARACAS, Oct. 26 (Xinhua). Strategic cooperation between Venezuela and Cuba continues to grow in the face of sanctions or unilateral coercive measures by the United States against both countries, Venezuela’s Foreign Ministry announced on Wednesday.

The Ministry of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, through its Twitter account, reviewed the meeting between the foreign ministers of Venezuela, Carlos Faría, and Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, in Argentina, as part of the meeting of foreign ministers of the Latin Community American and Caribbean States (CELAC).

The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry has described this cooperation between Venezuela and Cuba as a “fight and resistance mechanism” against US sanctions.

He also stressed the importance of relations between the two Latin American nations in the context of the fight against the new coronavirus pandemic.

Arriving in the Argentinian city of Buenos Aires on Tuesday to attend the CELAC foreign ministers’ meeting, Faría said the integration body had “become stronger” for about two years.

He said this strengthening is reflected in the structure and “engagement from all countries of this important body”.

“This is a demonstration of where we will all work hand in hand to see and face the new challenges of the region,” Faría pointed out.
