Venezuela awards university scholarships to young people from Ecuador

The selected individuals will be part of the international student program implemented by the Venezuelan executive branch with the support of the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation and the Salvador Allende Latin American School of Medicine, a press release from the Venezuelan consulate said.

At the scholarship award ceremony in the city of Archidona, Venezuelan Vice Minister of People Power for University Education, Science and Technology Iroschima Vásquez delivered a message from President Nicolás Maduro.

“For this country, the hope is to continue building solidarity between our brother peoples, as the eternal commander Hugo Chávez said: come soon, do not hesitate,” Vázquez said on behalf of the president.

The Prefect of Napo, José Toapanta, thanked the Venezuelan government and especially its head of state for welcoming the young people who are “the hope of Ecuador”.

One of the beneficiaries, Nayla Kunchikiai, thanked the neighboring country and the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Foundation for giving her and her colleagues the opportunity to train as community doctors. “Thank you for giving us hope,” he said.

The chief consul of the Venezuelan diplomatic mission in Quito, Pedro Sassone, pointed to the importance of unity, integration and solidarity, which is “for us a line of work, a fundamental ethical principle in state policy.”

So far there are 23 Ecuadorian scholarship holders and we hope that there will be 100 or more in the future.

“The brotherhood that exists between Ecuador and Venezuela is linked by the same history, we come from the same root of resistance of 500 years, a root of freedom, our liberators were here, Simón Bolívar and Marshal Antonio José de Sucre,” said Sassone . .
