Venezuela reaffirmed its friendship and solidarity with the Palestinian people

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted this Wednesday a forum entitled “From the river to the sea, Palestine will win”, which was attended by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, the ambassador of this Arab state in Caracas, Fadi Alzaben, and the UN humanitarian coordinator.here , Gianluca Rampolla.

Gil stressed the importance of the date, even more so in the current circumstances when the Palestinian people are under constant “genocidal attacks” from Israel.

He explained that today we are witnessing challenges that demonstrate the “great failure of the international community and the United Nations” due to events in the Palestinian territories.

The senior diplomat said he greatly appreciated UN Secretary-General António Guterres’ actions in recent months in denouncing the crimes committed in Palestine and believed the international community “needs to do much more.”

He also condemned his silence in the face of Israel’s genocide against the Palestinian people.

The Venezuelan foreign minister noted that people ask every day, “What is the United Nations for?” and claimed that this is exactly what is being attacked: “multilateralism and the rules that govern us as countries.”

He pointed out that a group of nations were happy to express their opinions on Venezuela, Russia and Turkey, but now there is “a shameful silence.”

Alzaben thanked the meeting for holding it and explained that it was a memorable date as the Palestinian issue remains unresolved and the rights established by the United Nations have not yet been resolved.

The diplomat once again praised the government of President Nicolás Maduro, which, he said, was “the first in the world to show solidarity and send humanitarian aid to our people in Gaza. We are very grateful for that,” he emphasized.

Rampolla expressed that today is a day to reaffirm international solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to live in peace and dignity, the State Department said in a press release.
