Venezuela’s foreign minister spoke to his counterpart from South Africa

On his Twitter account, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister said he had conveyed a message of friendship and brotherhood from President Nicolás Maduro.

We reiterate the desire to continue working to strengthen our cooperation map, he said.

On November 8, Maduro held a meeting in Egypt with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa as part of the XXVII. United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27) Conference in Sharm El Sheikh.

The presidency reported that both countries maintain solid economic cooperation based on the agreements signed at the Venezuela-South Africa Economic Forum in 2020, which aim to build strategic alliances in trade, mining, oil, agriculture and tourism.

Caracas and Pretoria are also deepening their cooperation and solidarity ties in various international arenas, such as the Non-Aligned Movement, according to the source.

The two nations established diplomatic relations on December 3, 1993 and have since signed various instruments of cooperation in the fields of politics, diplomacy, trade, energy, oil, gas and mining, among others.
