Verizon customers in the US are reporting that their cellular service is down. Complaints began Tuesday, and as of 4:30 p.m. ET Wednesday, more than 21,000 issues were reported to the Down Detector website.
While many of the reports came from California and the West Coast, outages were reported in Atlanta, DC, Denver, Minneapolis, New York City and Philadelphia.

On twitter, a user claimed they could send text messages but couldn’t take or make calls. When called, they reported that the number was “not working or unreachable.”
“Sacramento, CA. I am not receiving any calls or SMS. All 4 lines of my plan are not working,” said another customer on Down Detector.
Subscribers to US Cellular, which uses Verizon’s network, also report being affected by the outage.
A Verizon spokesman told CNET the company is aware of an issue affecting voice calls for some Verizon customers. “Our engineers are dedicated and we are working quickly to identify and resolve the issue,” they said.
There’s more to come.
