Véronique Cloutier will not be hosting the 38th Gémeaux Awards next September and is stepping down from leading the gala celebrating the best of the small screen for the fifth consecutive year.

Radio-Canada confirmed this to agency QMI on Tuesday, saying the 48-year-old communicator has been very busy, particularly with her music competition “Zénith,” which she hosts live every Thursday, and with the animation of “Véronique and the Fantastic.” at Rouge FM, she also has to direct the comedy “L’oeil du cyclone” next season and contribute to the fundraiser “Different like you” for her foundation Véro et Louis.

“Indeed, Véronique will not be returning to the animation of Gemini this year as she wants to focus on “Zénith”, “L’oeil du cyclone” and all her other projects, among others. We also want to thank her for these last four years in animation,” said Julie Racine, Radio-Canada’s first director, promotion and public relations, via email.

The animation of the next Gala has already been confirmed, added Ms. Racine, but one must await the official announcement to know the identity of Véronique Cloutier’s successor.
The 38th Gémeaux Awards will be broadcast on September 17th on ICI Télé. The finalists will be announced on June 15th.
