A vet assistant has put together a cautionary note for potential dog owners, telling them what to expect when looking for their new best friend.
The advice, in the form of humorous ‘warning labels’, warns that huskies need pet insurance, beagles are ‘drama queens’ and corgis have a ‘Napoleon complex’.
The veterinary assistant shared the three-part series on her TikTok under the name @isie_xxiv with the caption “Warning signs I wish I had on these dog breeds.”
The narrator is an AI-generated voice over a photo of each dog with the warning sign.
For the Australian Shepherd, she warns, “Can come home from a 10-mile trek and still be hours away.” Next is the Doberman Pinscher, who is said to “can go from a cinnamon roll to a psychopath in an instant.” become”.
This popular herding dog is known to have a bit of a “Napoleon complex,” according to the veterinarian, who humorously addressed many of the “warnings.”
The veterinary assistant (pictured) posted the three-part Tik Tok videos that have drawn animal lovers far and wide
For Border Collies, they wrote, “No matter how much exercise you think this dog needs, multiply that by 10.” While the Australian Cattle Dog is said to be “similar to the Border Collie but with hints of murderous intent and on the crack”.
For those looking for a less active dog breed—and a little lazier—they cautioned that the gargantuan Great Dane is the largest lap dog there is.
“Prepare your body for the biggest lap dog you will ever own,” says the voice.
Dachshunds, they warned, have endless appetites and love to convince their owners that they’re “starving” even after they’ve just eaten.
Some of the breeds have health issues that could be physically and financially draining for owners.
According to the veterinary assistant, Labradors, for example, suffer from “toxin absorption, foreign bodies, fatty deposits and much more”. They took a serious turn, writing that the Cavalier King Charles “is a time bomb of heart failure.”
They dubbed the famously loud beagle “drama queens.”
The blue-eyed husky may need “sedatives” and pet owners may need to “invest in good pet insurance.”
The adorable bulldog and pug – known for their dented and wrinkled faces – also need special care.
“You’ll be cleaning crevices for the rest of your life,” read the warning sign for the bulldog and its wrinkled folds,” says the voice.
Pugs, with their flat faces, are prone to breathing issues like Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS).
Among the larger, tougher breeds was the German shepherd, and the narrator advised “investing in obedience training or paying for sedatives for all doctor visits.”
The pit bull, who is notoriously rough and tough, will in reality “mostly just scrape the skin,” according to the veterinarian.
It’s unclear which clinic the veterinary assistant works at, but her videos have drawn animal lovers far and wide and have garnered thousands of views.
