Organized by the company Life's Better Outside (LBO), this event aims to (re)discover the attractions of this popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts – it also appears on our list of trips to take in Quebec in 2024.

Accommodated in the yurt village, participants can explore the area hiking, on ski-snowshoes (Ski-Hoc) or even on a fat bike. Everyone will have the opportunity to experience the snow via ferrata, one of the rare places where you can do it in winter, complete with abseiling and zip lines.

“Experience Via Boréale is limited to 30 people,” says Sarah Sky Carpentier, the organizer. We want to create beautiful connections between participants by encouraging slow living. »

The event will not only be an event with guided or independent activities, but will also have a gastronomic component, with a dinner based on local products, and will be educational, as Sarah Sky Carpentier explains:
“With or without experience, we want to help people develop their autonomy by giving them the tools to do so: trackless, winter camping with water and heat management, the multi-layer system, etc. Ultimately, we want to promote nature even in winter! »
More events like this in 2024
In 2023, LBO Experience organized a festival with around 200 participants in the Palissades de Charlevoix. For this new year, the organizers have decided to change their approach and increase the number of events, but with fewer participants.
“Our goal is to light up Quebec and the various actors in the outdoor community,” explains Sarah Sky Carpentier. However, a festival that only takes place once a year is a bit limiting. That's why we decided to focus on micro-experiments in different regions of Quebec several times a year. »
This was particularly the case in August 2023 and last autumn in Mont Ham.
The March 2024 event in Vallée Bras-du-Nord will therefore be the first in a series of ten events, each with a special activity. The organizers did not want to announce the locations of the upcoming events.
However, we can tell you that the Perseids will involve river descents, escapades, or even camping on a peak. To learn more, you need to be patient and keep an eye on the LBO Expérience website.
