Victor Willis says Grammys should have removed Trevor Noah instead of Kanye West
Victor Willis called the Kanye West Grammys ban “disturbing” and blamed Trevor Noah for the outcry, The Blast reported.
It should be noted that the Donda rapper was pulled from the Grammys cast lineup due to his online social media threats.
Last Sunday he wrote on Instagram “I can afford to hurt you” to DL Hughley. On Wednesday, Instagram’s parent company Meta hit the rapper with a 24-hour ban after he posted a series of racial slurs directly to Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
It all came after Noah expressed his concerns about Yes’s ex, Kim Kardashian, and criticized Kanye’s “harassing behavior.”
“What we see here is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world who can’t get her ex to stop texting her, stop chasing her, stop bothering her,” Noah said on Tuesday night his side show.
Amidst all this, Village People lead singer Willis claimed Saturday afternoon that it was Trevor Noah’s fault that Ye was banned and that the Grammys should have removed Noah as host instead.
Willis began his statement by saying, “While Kanye West’s recent behavior is disturbing and even despicable, the Grammys ban is just as disturbing.”
“Trever Noah knew he was hosting the Grammys (where Kanye West competed for numerous nominations) before interfering in Kanye’s business and challenging a response,” he continued. Ye has been nominated for five Grammy Awards.
“Trevor knows what Kanye is like,” he continued. “Now Kanye is out of the Grammys because Trevor Noah couldn’t keep his mouth shut as host (at least until the Grammys were over) which put the academy in an awkward position with Kanye.”
“I like Trevor, but maybe the Grammys should have considered hosting him for even getting involved in this mess,” he added. “Harvey Mason should fix this mess quickly. Make Kanye West perform. What are you saying?”
