Presenter with the most: Professional poker player Victoria is best known as the presenter of the BBC2 quiz show Only Connect
Comedy: David (R) played the lead role of socially awkward Mark in cult sitcom Peep Show (pictured with co-star and comedy partner Robert Webb)
The couple met at a showbiz party in 2007, and although David admitted he was immediately smitten with the co-author and presenter, it was three years before they actually got together.
Victoria was dating someone else at the time and rejected the comedian’s advances.
In his autobiography Back Story, David talks about the torment of being away from the love of his life for years and how this led him to midnight walks in the park and frequent visits to the pub.
“I was hopelessly in love. “I never told anyone about it,” the star reveals in his book. “I have not told my closest friends or my parents about the enormous sadness that has overshadowed my life.”
