[VIDÉO] A patient ‘escaped’ twice in Beauce during rescue operation – Le Journal de Québec

An ambulance call to a patient who died in Beauce in June 2022 was heavily criticized when we saw video showing two paramedics ‘escape’ the patient twice.

On June 27, 2022, in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, two paramedics from the Cambi company were called to the home of a 52-year-old man in cardiac arrest.

The scene was filmed by a neighbor of the deceased.

In the pictures we see how the paramedics “escaped” the patient twice.

We see that they are having difficulty putting the deceased on the stretcher.

Two neighbors helped the paramedics accommodate the man.

Cardiac maneuvers are performed on site.

“It makes no sense to treat a person like that!”

The 52-year-old’s mother contacted TVA Nouvelles and presented his pictures. She wanted to express her dissatisfaction and outrage.

“I was in a lot of pain and then I told myself there’s no point in treating a person like that. What would have happened if the two gentlemen across the street hadn’t come down to put my son on the stretcher? That impressed me,” said the deceased’s mother, Pauline Gagnon.

The lady made a complaint.

A letter written by the CIUSSS Chaudière-Appalaches states that an investigation has been carried out and a meeting has taken place with the employees of the ambulance company concerned.

Corrective actions have been implemented.

A welcome program is extended for new employees to ensure a good understanding of the material.
