A fatal shooting left 14 people dead on Thursday, December 21, at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. The 24-year-old shooter was a student himself. He seems to have been inspired by the recent murders in Russia.
Jiri Forman, Czech journalist, faced the man who killed 14 people in a shooting at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, on Thursday, December 21st. This Czech cameraman was one of the first to arrive at the scene of the tragedy. The attacker had then just taken up position on the roofs of the university with his semi-automatic rifle. While he was shooting at the fleeing students, the journalist had the reflex to question him. He asked them to shoot him because he knew he was at a great distance from the murderer.
The murderer was actively sought
David Kozak, 24, was a student himself. The attacker ultimately killed himself at the site of his massacre. David Kozak was actively sought. According to police, he shot his father shortly before the shooting. He is also said to be the perpetrator of a double murder that took place last week in a forest east of Prague. He appears to have been inspired by several recent murders in Russia, but his motives remain incomprehensible to the hundreds of Prague residents who came to pray in front of the university on Friday.
