There is a peace conference in Malta this weekend
A peace conference will be held in Mate this Saturday and Sunday, with around fifty representatives of the United States, the European Union and the United Kingdom taking part. Russia will be the big absentee. Volodymyr Zelensky is hoping for support for his 10-point plan to end the war. “It is obvious that these steps have absolutely no future, they are simply counterproductive,” said Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Sakharov on Thursday, referring to the Malta meeting. Two previous peace conferences were held in Jeddah and Copenhagen, but without success.

Since August, 1.3 million tons of grain have been exported via the Black Sea
Ukraine has said it has exported 1.3 million tonnes of agricultural products since August and established a maritime corridor in the Black Sea, despite Russia threatening reprisals against ships operating in the region. “Four ships are on their way to the Bosphorus, eleven ships have entered the ports of Odessa to be loaded,” Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said on X (ex-Twitter). The four cargo ships in question will “export almost 130,000 tonnes of grain and 10,000 tonnes of metal to countries in Africa, Asia and Europe,” the minister said.
