A 32-year-old man who used the public road as a “race track” received a 10-week suspended sentence after causing an accident with a rented Lamborghini.

“[Gull] Khan seemed determined to use the streets as a racetrack, as he was well above the speed limit and weaving through traffic. “He had a complete disregard for traffic rules and the safety of others,” Police Officer Pete Smith said in a statement issued by Peterborough Police in England on Tuesday.

On Friday, the 32-year-old was sentenced to a suspended sentence of 10 weeks in prison and 120 hours of community service after pleading guilty to dangerous driving and driving without insurance.

In images from a camera shared on Twitter by Peterborough Police, we can clearly see the hired vehicle a few seconds before the accident, zigzagging at high speed between the other cars on Boulevard Bourges.

According to an analysis of the video, the man was traveling at a speed of at least 120 km/h in a 65 km/h zone.

At the time, the unpredictable driver allegedly hit the rear of a Seat Leon sports car that was changing lanes, causing it to spin 180 degrees. The driver reportedly suffered injuries, including a broken nose, a concussion and various cuts and scrapes, the statement said.

Gull Khan was also banned from driving for 20 months and must complete an extensive driving test before he can get behind the wheel again.
