FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – There were reports of a tornado in South Florida on Saturday, and part of it was caught on camera by Local 10 viewers.
On social media, several observers posted images of a tornado moving across the water in Fort Lauderdale Beach, taken from different angles.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch around 5:45 p.m. and has seen reports and radar indicating the tornado was spotted near Federal Highway and Las Olas Boulevard.
Local 10 viewers reported seeing electrical flashes and strong winds in the area.
Todd Sabata sent cell phone video to Local 10 News of the tornado raging east of downtown Fort Lauderdale.
As of Saturday evening, no injuries were reported from the storm.
It is unclear how many people are currently affected by power outages.
