[VIDÉO] Make your will online, a safe practice?

The pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation in most areas of business in Quebec, and the notary’s office has not been spared.

Today it is possible to create notarized documents such as a will completely online. But how do you know if those official, important and confidential documents stay that way when created remotely?

We met Me François L’Heureux, generalist notary and member of the Chambre des notaires du Québec, who has acquired an expertise related to the technological notarial deed, to discuss the digital transformation of notarial law.

Watch the video above to better understand how technology is changing the world of notaries.

Signing notarized documents remotely is just as secure as signing in person. First of all, you should know that notaries always verify the identity of their client by requesting identification documents via video conference, in addition to validating their email address used to sign documents.

In addition, the Chambre des Notaires du Québec works with a secure system that manages the security of documents and keeps a copy of each of them.
