A very strange fact happened in Jaipur, India: A monkey was caught ‘stealing’ a dog in broad daylight this Saturday (18). The episode left passersby who witnessed the scene completely perplexed, and certainly the dog’s owner wasn’t happy at all, after all it wouldn’t be the first time a pet was stolen by monkeys to eat in the region.

In the recording, the monkey can be seen picking up a black and white puppy. After that he stopped and looked at the people on the street and, as if nothing had bothered him, continued his journey across the rooftops. The puppy even tried to free himself, but couldn’t..

Jaipur is known for the large number of monkeys that are released in the city. One of the local Hindu temples was even nicknamed Tempo do Macaco. According to a New York Post report, the city has become known for the presence of animals, but it’s common for travel agencies to warn tourists about the high possibility of monkey theft. Among the most common items stolen by the animals are cell phones, cameras and wallets.

However, during the 2019 pandemic, the monkeys would have become more aggressive due to the lack of food. And it is still suspected that in 2021 A tribe of monkeys killed about 250 dogs for food in Maharashtra, a city near Jaipur.
