English musician Roger Waters sent a seemingly indirect message to Bolsonarists and reactionaries During the show, he performed at the Mané Garrincha Stadium in Brasília on Tuesday evening (24).
Shortly before the presentation began, the following message was displayed on large screens:
“If you’re one of those people who says, ‘I love Pink Floyd, but I can’t stand Roger’s politics,’ then you might as well retreat to the bar now.”

Waters’ message comes a day after the singer met with President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva at the Palácio do Planalto. Sharing the meeting on social media, Lula recalled that the musician had tried to visit him five years ago when he was imprisoned in Curitiba and was prevented from doing so by the courts.
“Five years ago, Roger Waters tried to visit me in Curitiba but was prevented from doing so. Today, when he returns to Brazil, we will meet in the presidential office at the Palácio do Planalto,” the president wrote.
Roger Waters has in recent years became the target of attacks by the Bolsonarists due to his social commitment and public criticism of Jair Bolsonaro. During performances in Brazil, the singer has already taken shots at the former president and paid tribute to city councilor Marielle Franco, who was murdered in 2018.
