This is the shocking moment a mob of 40 people looted a FedEx truck as it was stopped at a red light in Memphis, Tennessee.
Around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, a 53-foot trailer was searched while stuck in traffic at the intersection of Riverport Road and West Mallory Avenue.
After the driver reported the theft, Memphis police arrived and saw vehicles speeding recklessly and a number of boxes being thrown across the street.
The truck driver told police that cars were blocking the intersection just before a group of men broke through the sealed back door and ransacked the trailer.
Since then, three men have been arrested after the angry group caused nearly $10,000 in damage and stole numerous items such as foosball speakers, a box of airplanes and three DirectTV cable boxes.

The brazen looters managed to break open the back door of the truck using an unknown tool before taking the packages. According to authorities, there was $10,000 worth of damage
A video of the theft begins with the large group randomly grabbing packages from the partially open back door of the truck.
A mountain of brown boxes stacked on top of each other is quickly stolen by the thieves, with some taking several at a time. As the thieves run away with the goods, some of them fall to the ground in front of cars that are stuck in the traffic jam caused by the scene.
Almost every looter is wearing a hood or face covering while nearby drivers watch the incident in amazement and some even laugh at the incident.
The rambunctious group soon manages to open the entire back door as boxes spill out of the semi-truck, revealing the contents.
The video then shows one of the robbers running toward cars with a package in each hand as the person behind the camera laughs.
“Man, now he’s trying to move,” says the man behind the camera as the truck driver tries to escape the chaos.
At the end of the video, the driver manages to move forward, but the looters continue to steal the truck.

Fox 13 said officers received a call from Breezy Point Apartments security around 2:30 a.m. Sunday saying they had arrested three people. Security guards told Memphis police that they noticed the men in a white Chevrolet while the apartment complex was on lockdown.
They added that the vehicle smelled of marijuana when security asked the men to identify themselves before searching the car.
Security then told police that the three men allegedly confessed to taking items from the FedEx truck just hours earlier.
When police arrived at the complex, the men told them that the items they were carrying had been taken from the street and not directly from the truck.
According to reports, the items found in the car were four Kicker 6X9 speakers, a 14-piece pot and pan set, a vehicle headlight, as well as a box containing airplanes and three DirectTV cable boxes.
County Commissioner Charlie Caswell told WMC Memphis that his daughter was caught in the chaos on the way to his home Saturday evening.
He said that “she was being dragged through Frayser to Raleigh and hit the back and spun her car around” just before a woman and a man began breaking her windows and trying to pull her out of the car.
Caswell’s daughter escaped and drove to the local fire station, where she tried to call someone for help, but no one responded.

County Commissioner Charlie Caswell (pictured) said his daughter became involved in the chaos on Saturday night on the way to his home
“She had to drive through the grass and jump over the curb last night to get away from these people and get to my house because of this attempt to kidnap her,” Caswell said.
The commissioner also told police that most of those involved were children from the Frayser and Raleigh areas.
In response to the frightening situation, FedEx told : “The safety of our team members and the safety of our customers’ shipments are our top priority and we are grateful that there were no serious injuries as a result of this incident.”
“We are cooperating fully with investigative authorities and taking appropriate steps to address this matter.”
This news comes shortly after an Amazon delivery truck was looted in front of the helpless driver.
Some of the young thieves (pictured) got out of the truck while the others immediately stole from the back of the open van
A group of about six thieves, who appeared to be young boys, held up a large walk-in van after the driver left the door wide open.
They frantically grabbed boxes while the driver watched from a nearby sidewalk and did nothing.
She appeared to be fed up with the robbers who had sneaked up on her while she was delivering other packages at an apartment complex believed to be in Atlanta, Georgia.
It’s unclear exactly what was stolen from the truck and who the thieves were, but Amazon told that police are investigating the incident.
