Stunning images that went viral this week show a North American police officer being “thrown” into the air while on patrol. The police officer is part of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and was talking to the driver of a car. There was a collision with another vehicle.
While the two are talking, another car appears and crashes into the stationary vehicle. The force of the impact is so great that police officer Jesse Gregory “flies” through the impact.
Despite the shocking scene, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said the three people involved in the crash only suffered minor injuries. All were given medical treatment and then released.
The video was released by the police on Wednesday (January 24th) with the aim of showing the consequences that inattentive driving can have. “At this time, we emphasize the impact of distracted driving in honor of Officer Nicholas Dees, who lost his life after being struck by a distracted driver,” Highway Patrol said.
