Child rescued after entering teddy bear machine in China

A fiveyearold child was rescued by firefighters after climbing into a teddy bear catching machine. The case occurred on September 12 in Fuquan, Guizhou Province, southwest China. See video above.

Firefighters rushed to the scene after receiving a call from the child’s parents informing them of the incident. Cell phone footage shows that the child was still holding a stuffed toy when the fire department arrived.

🧸 According to local media, the boy entered the prize exit of the machine shortly after noticing the glass box full of toys. However, since this type of claw machine has a oneway door, he couldn’t get out and started screaming for help.

A person who saw the trapped boy said he searched for the owner of the machine, but the key to the equipment was not found. The boy, who was scared and crying after being trapped for a while, was comforted by firefighters.

Firefighters used a screwdriver to remove the lock from the machine’s glass case. After about five minutes, the boy was able to slide out safely without serious injury.

After the rescue, firefighters stressed that parents should always monitor their children in outdoor entertainment areas and other locations. “In addition, it is important to provide safety education to prevent similar incidents.”
