Video shows teenage girl brutally attacked by adult woman at McDonald’s in Lomita

LOMITA, Calif. (KABC) — Family members and community leaders are calling for justice after a 13-year-old was attacked and beaten at a Lomita McDonald’s, an incident captured in a now-viral video.

Kassidy Jones told her mother that she was leaving the restroom at the restaurant last week when the woman seen in the video looked her in the eye. She said the woman seemed upset and said she was fighting children.

The teenager then says she was attacked for no reason. In the video, the adult woman can be seen pulling Kassidy by her hair, pushing her to the ground and hitting her several times.

“My daughter is not doing well emotionally. She can’t sleep at night. She has bruises…She doesn’t want to go to school because she’s tired of the kids and everyone asking her what happened and making fun of her,” said Angelina Gray, her mother.

Several people can be seen in the footage watching the attack. Finally, one person jumped in to help.

“It wasn’t a fight, it was a beating.”

On Saturday, Kassidy’s mother, other family members and community members gathered in a protest outside the McDonald’s where the beating took place.

They are calling for the woman involved to turn herself in and for McDonald’s managers to be charged because they did nothing to prevent the incident.

“I want the person who brutally attacked my daughter to turn himself in. I know you’re watching, I know your family is watching…Do the right thing and turn yourself in,” Gray said.

The teen’s mother also said she was upset that McDonald’s didn’t apologize.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles police said an investigation into the incident is ongoing. There were no arrests.
