We still have a few weeks until the release of Part 2 of Stranger Things Season 4 on Friday, July 1, but to get us going — and to further whet our appetites — Netflix has a teaser for the Thursday released the last two episodes of the penultimate season.
In the ominous clip — typically vibrant affair — we hear Vecna scoff at Eleven. “It’s over,” the villain tells her. “You set me free. You can’t stop this now.” We also get a very revealing clue to the fate of an endangered character.
Speaking to TVLine, the creators of the series, the Duffer Brothers, said Part 2 is a Whitman’s sampler. It “has a little bit of everything,” summarized Matt Duffer. “It’s extremely emotional while also offering the most action and spectacle we’ve ever had.”
Later in the interview (which you can read in full here) he borrowed a description of the last two episodes from Joseph Quinn, who plays Eddie. “He called it a crazy symphony of chaos,” Matt said. “It is, especially the last episode.”
As viewers know – spoilers ahead if you’re still watching – Season 4 split our heroes into three locales: good old Hawkins, California (where Eleven had moved with the Byerses) and Russia (where Hopper was being held). prisoner of the KGB). By the time Part 1 ended, the group was even more fragmented, with Eleven out in Nevada, Mike, Will, Jonathan, and Argyle, and Nancy in… well… let’s just say trouble. “We’ve been going back and forth between these different worlds throughout the season,” noted Ross Duffer, “but in the finale the crossover gets really fast-paced as we just hop from one world to the next.”
