Urban development planning and management will be one of the three pillars of the sector in 2023, director of the Department of Corporate Governance of the Ministry of Construction, Dau Minh Thanh, expects.
This year, according to the VNA news agency, this portfolio will focus on the implementation of the government’s program of action to implement the resolution on urban planning, construction, management and development by 2030.
It will also complete the national planning data system and promote the exploration of urban development models related to the geographical location, functions and characteristics of cities.
The Ministry of Construction has promoted international cooperation activities over the past year and further advanced the approved programs related to the sustainable development of smart cities, green growth and climate change response.
According to official data, Vietnam’s national urbanization rate was estimated at 41.7 percent in 2022, up 1.2 percent year-on-year.
