Hanoi, August 13 (Prensa Latina) To date, Vietnam has administered more than 250 million doses of vaccine against Covid-19, a disease that has infected 11,362,540 people nationwide since the pandemic began.
With the 630,923 vaccinations applied in the past 24 hours, there are already 250 million 409,815 vaccinations across the country, the Health Ministry noted in its report last night.
According to the report, 2,192 new cases were diagnosed, 5,897 medical discharges were granted and one patient died, bringing the death toll from the disease to 43,096.
The ministry also stressed that with the emergence of sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5 of the coronavirus, especially in the south of the country, it will closely monitor the situation and project possible scenarios and measures to deal with emergencies.

Earlier this month, Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stressed the need to prevent the epidemic from flaring up again, noting that work to achieve this must be based on three basic elements: conducting diagnostic tests, quarantine and treatment.
Minh Chinh insisted on ensuring resources, the quality of care and hospital infrastructure, and improving primary health care.
He also urged to intensify communication work on the importance of completing the vaccination schedule, and in this regard requested that the specific groups receive the third and fourth doses and that children aged five to 12 receive the second within this month. .
The Prime Minister of Vietnam reiterated that adapting to the pandemic safely and flexibly and controlling it effectively is imperative to accelerate the country’s economic recovery and sustainable development.
