“We had goosebumps throughout the entire show,” admitted Gabriel and Myriam a few minutes after the performance. “It was surreal to hear their songs and watch them listen to them.”

The three cowboys sat comfortably on the balcony and received a nice ovation before the performance began.

“The closeness they have with their audience is very noble. It’s as if they belong to the people. It gave the show a lot of power,” said Maya and Théo.

An honor for the artists

Members of the Pub Royal cast were told that members of the Cowboys Fringants would be in the audience.

Gabrielle, a 29-year-old dancer who is part of the cast, says she didn’t feel any more pressure than usual when she heard the news.

“I was so happy. I was able to prepare and concentrate on dedicating my performance to them,” she said happily at the end of the evening. “This band is part of our heritage, so it was a great honor.”
