“It’s been 10 years, right? And it’s what we call the year of the big gatherings, because in those 10 years we’ve all managed to bring producers and winemakers together to prove, together with consumers, what is unique about a consumer event in the world.” , he says. the curator of the event, Simone Duarte.

The idea is for the public to know, taste and understand Portuguese wines. In one hall you can talk to more than 80 producers and taste more than 790 wines.

“It’s very important to be with the consumer to know what they think about the wine and how they relate to our wine,” says oenologist Marta Galamba from Colinas do Ouro.

The program also includes a tasting room for only 30 people. In it, worldrenowned sommeliers will share a very special selection of wines with the audience. Argentinian Cecília Aldaz is one of them.

“On Sunday we will prepare a couple’s dish together with the super great cook Andressa Cabral. She will prepare Brazilian food and we will pair it with Lisbon wines. It will be delicious,” says the sommelier.

The space will also feature a wine bar, wine shops, gastronomy and stands with interactive activities, as well as a free social space promoting talk shows featuring Brazilian personalities, critics, producers and Portuguese winemakers.

Organized by newspapers O Globo, Valor Econômico and Portuguese newspaper Público, the event runs until Sunday (11) at the Brazilian Jockey Club in Gávea, in Rio’s South Zone. Tickets can be purchased through the website.
