Julius also recently joined Viola at the 2023 SXSW Conference and Festivals at the Paramount Theater for the world premiere of her new film, Air, in which she stars as Michael Jordan’s parents, James and Deloris.

The pair looked stunning as always, with Viola sporting a chic all-white ensemble. Meanwhile Julius was her opposite, wearing an all black suit and smart shoes.

Air received rave reviews and even a standing ovation when it premiered at SXSW over the weekend.

Scheduled for release on April 5th, Air tells the story of the rise of sneaker brand Air Jordan, directed by Ben Affleck.

The shoes – produced by the American company Nike, Inc – were designed for former Hall of Fame basketball player Michael Jordan during his time with the Chicago Bulls in 1984 and were unveiled to the public on April 1, 1985.

Matt Damon plays sports executive Sonny Vaccaro when he learns that both sales and growth at Nike’s basketball division are declining.

Nike founder Phil Knight, played by Affleck, challenges Vaccaro to come up with a proposal for a new shoe, giving him the idea of creating a brand around up-and-coming player Michael Jordan.

Viola praised Affleck as a director to The Hollywood Reporter. The veteran actress called Airing “an incredible experience that me and my husband and even my hair and makeup team are still talking about to this day.”

She also opened up about her husband being on set with her in a recent interview with Essence, saying, “It felt like home, you know?”

It’s been a great month for Davis, who recently achieved EGOT status after winning a Grammy for the audiobook performance of her memoir, Finding Me.

She also made history as the third black woman to receive this honor after Whoopi Goldberg and Jennifer Hudson.

The acronym EGOT refers to entertainers who have earned an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar and a Tony.

Prior to the annual awards ceremony, Davis had already won an Oscar, two Tonys, and an Emmy.
