An irate millionaire threatened to pay taxes outside Spain, forgetting he’s already doing so as the government prepares to raise taxes on large fortunes. Sebastián Maroto, 56, is a self-made man who became rich by running his father’s company believes that it deserves the respect of the institutions because it creates wealth and jobs.

Maroto feels singled out by the PSOE and United We Can government and is ready to put pressure on him, threatening to take his money out of the country, ignoring the fact that he has always had it in tax havens.

“If they continue to treat the rich like this, they’ll only stay poor in Spain and then we’ll see where they get the money from,” says this multimillionaire businessman, who pays less tax than his workers.

In order to teach the government a lesson, Maroto ended up deciding to move his tax residency to Spain, only to then move it back to Ireland.

After this gesture The conservative media can now publish that the big fortunes are fleeing Spain without ignoring the fact that they were already out. It’s even possible that Maroto offers an interview in which he bullies himself and sows fear among the populace who would benefit from his taxes.

Maroto decided to pay taxes outside of Spain through a complex network of tax engineers when he realized that if he complied with labor and tax laws it would be impossible for him to enrich himself at the expense of the labor of others.
