CNN –
Chris Pine – an acclaimed actor who has gone viral several times recently after photos showing his quirky street style began surfacing online – decides on his clothing choices.
After photos of him wearing a particular pair of short shorts in Los Angeles caused a stir once again last month, Pine isn’t thinking twice about it.
“I don’t think there’s anything to defend,” he told E! News added in an interview on Sunday when asked about his barely-there shorts: “They call them short-shorts, right?” It should be short.”
The Star Trek actor went on to say, “It’s a vibe, it’s the best vibe,” and that he prefers a “Tom Selleck” or “70s surfer vibe” to the longer shorts that everyone in, for example, wears one wears emo era band from the early 2000s would wear.
Pine even said he would rather wear his short shorts than – gasp – “any kind of Capri” pants.
From the cozy kaftan he wore on vacation in 2018 to his embodiment of the “seaside grandma” trend in his 2022 look, Pine has become a fearless social media style icon.
And he promises his fashion splendor won’t end with last month’s ivory shorts, further admitting on Sunday that he doesn’t plan on stopping showing off his duds anytime soon.
“I’m going to wear the shorts…I mean until the legs fall out,” Pine said.
It’s a statement that exudes confidence and demands respect, and we’re here to show it.
