Following the arrival of Doctor Cameron Hayek and Denny, Doc’s grandson, during season four, Virgin River was expanded to include new characters this year. In season 5, released on Netflix in September, fans met Lizzie’s mother and Tara’s sister, but also Kaia, a pretty firefighter who showed a lot of courage and determination. The young woman gave birth to a baby via video, particularly in the countryside, under the guidance of Mel and Cameron, before battling the fires that threatened Virgin River and its residents. Kaia is played by Kandyse McClure and can be seen most notably in Battlestar Galactica. She has become very important in the series and in the heart of Preacher.
Virgin River: Julia was eliminated in favor of Kaia
For the latter, a good way to console themselves about Paige’s departure. Christopher’s mother actually returned to Virgin River via express in order to leave better afterwards. If Preacher (played by Colin Lawrence) and Paige admitted their feelings for each other, that didn’t stop the young woman from setting sail again. A farewell that shocked fans and caused incomprehension: What was the point of this character returning for such a short time? She’s not the only Virgin River woman to have disappeared from radar screens in record time, and her absence is intriguing. Julia, the martial arts instructor Preacher fell in love with at the end of season four, just before Paige returned to town, suffered a similar fate. Julia actually snuck away to let Preacher live out his story with Paige. However, when he decided to leave, the cook did not return to Julia. For fear of seeming rude or ungrateful? Perhaps. However, the fate of this character remains surprising, especially when we know that he was played by Colin Lawrence’s wife!

Virgin River: Lucia Walters (Julia) is the wife of Colin Lawrence, Preacher’s interpreter
Actress Lucia Walters, who is the actor’s wife in real life, had actually joined the cast for the fourth season of Virgin River. News the couple celebrated on social media. If fans were happy about this news at the time, their joy was short-lived because the character of Julia, who we had already seen in the series as a headhunter looking for a doctor to help Doc in the clinic, was not stayed. Here, too, one can ask oneself what point it made to include the actress in the series only to give her a minor role in the story in the end. The writers could have developed the story between Preacher and Julia further instead of introducing another new character. Although one has to admit that Kaia’s fiery personality spiced up this fifth season of Virgin River. And we can already predict that she will score points on Preacher in the future.
