The Major League Baseball All-Star Game is a great opportunity for its participants to make friends with their peers who will mostly be adversaries for the rest of the year. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Shohei Ohtani showed it well on Tuesday night.
During the Classic at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park, Ohtani spoke briefly with a Japanese commentary team for the game’s media coverage. In front of the camera, the American League flag-bearer stood in the dugout when his second teammate chose the right moment to step behind him without his knowledge.
While the Los Angeles Angels star answered his interlocutors in his native language, Vlad junior nodded to the background, pretending to understand everything and agree with what was said. Ohtani finally turned around to find the Toronto Blue Jays bat stole the show on screen. The two men then hugged amicably.
Guerrero Jr. had his big moment on Monday when he won the annual circuit competition.
