Putin threatens to use more cluster bombs in Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Wednesday (20) that it was necessary to think about how to end “the tragedy” of the war in Ukraine.
Putin mentioned the war during a virtual meeting of leaders of the G20, the group of the world’s 20 largest economies. In his speech, he explained that others present at the meeting said they were shocked by Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. In this context he mentioned the war. See what he said below:
He stated the following: “Yes, of course military actions are always a tragedy, and of course we have to think about how to stop this tragedy. By the way, Russia has never refused to hold peace talks with Ukraine.”
Furthermore, he used the word war to describe what is happening in Ukraine in general, Russian government leaders do not refer to the war in Ukraine as a war, but rather as a special military operation. His sentence was as follows: “I understand that this war and the deaths of people are shocking.”
The war in Ukraine began in February 2022 when Russian troops invaded Ukrainian territory. It is the most serious armed conflict in Europe since the Second World War.
