Vo Van Thuong replaces Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan, who temporarily held the post following the resignation of Nguyen Xuan Phuc at an extraordinary session of Vietnam’s parliament on January 18.
At the ceremony, the new president vowed to be absolutely loyal to the country, the people and the constitution and to strive to fulfill the tasks assigned to him by the party, the state and the people.
