A third of Coops de l’Information’s workforce took advantage of the voluntary exit program introduced last summer, resulting in 125 employees leaving the company’s various branches as it prepared for the turnaround. back to the newspaper.
The Information Coops are actually preparing to publish their final weekly print editions on December 30th in order to become fully digital media.
“The cooperatives would like to sincerely thank the members who are leaving the company. Without them, the new generation today would not be able to enthusiastically embrace the 100% digital model,” we wrote in a press release on Wednesday.
The paper version of the newspapers “La Tribune” (Sherbrooke), “La Voix de l’Est” (Granby), “Le Droit” (Ottawa-Gatineau), “Le Nouvelliste” (Trois-Rivières), “Le Quotidien” (Saguenay –Lac-Saint-Jean) and “Le Soleil” (Quebec) have been published once a week since the end of March 2020 as part of a new business model. December 30th therefore marks a further step towards full digitality.
However, the information cooperatives will continue to publish the six business magazines in these six markets.
