BRUSSELS – “It’s a long road, but Europe will be by your side every step of the way, until the moment you cross the door that leads to our European Union.” This was stated by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, in a speech via video link in front of the Ukrainian Rada, the Ukrainian parliament, after the candidate status was granted in Kyiv.
Von der Leyen stressed that Kyiv must carry out reforms and called on Ukraine to “focus on the anti-oligarch law”.
