A helicopter parked in the garden, a luxurious house with wads of dollars and rubles, gold bars and weapons, fake passports, disguises and violent symbols: Russian media have published images of the search of the house of Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the terrorist militia The paramilitary group Wagner was perpetrated in St. Petersburg during their attempted armed uprising almost two weeks ago. The pictures taken by the police, which suddenly appeared in various Russian public and private media, show a large and luxurious house with a helicopter parked in the garden. Inside were found bundles of dollars and rubles, bars of gold and numerous weapons, as well as several passports with different names and a wardrobe full of wigs.

The St. Petersburg-based website Fontanka also reported that a photo with “dismembered heads” was found in the home of Prigozhin, whose mercenaries are regularly accused of abusing them. A photo was also published on the website showing a huge sledgehammer in a room of Prigozhin’s house, next to a metal head with the inscription “In case of important negotiations”. The “mace” is one of the symbols of the Wagner group, who pride themselves on using this weapon to brutally execute or torture their enemies.

“Wagner’s boss, Prigozhin, is not in Belarus, but he is in St. Petersburg,” Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko admitted, meanwhile, at a meeting with journalists from foreign and Belarusian media. As for the Wagner fighters, Lukashenko stated: “From what I was told this morning, they are in their camps.”
