Walmart launches delivery subscription throughout Quebec

After a few weeks of testing in three cities across the country, including Montreal, Walmart confirms that the next-day delivery subscription will be available across Quebec starting August 29.

Following the same principle as subscribing to a mobile service, it is now possible to subscribe to the American retail giant to benefit from an unlimited home delivery service the next day.

Less than $2 a week

This subscription to the Delivery Pass program for groceries or general merchandise is offered for $8.97 per month or $89 per year. For a full year, we’re talking less than $2 a week.

Without being able to divulge numbers, Cyrille Ballereau, Walmart’s vice president for Quebec, assures that the success of this service was immediate with customers at the 29 stores in the greater Montreal area, as well as in Ottawa and Toronto, where the stores were testing the service.

“As soon as I noticed the reception, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I asked for this subscription to be implemented quickly in Quebec,” he explains.

Unlimited Deliveries

The Pass program only applies to orders of $35 or more, before fees and taxes. On the other hand, the number of deliveries per month is not limited and customers are offered the choice of a time slot of their choice for the reception.

At checkout, shipping costs are automatically waived for next-day delivery. Subscribers have the option to upgrade to same-day or expedited delivery for a reduced fee.
