Russia has attacked Ukraine with at least 500 missiles and drones in the past five days. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during yesterday's telephone conversation with Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Rishi Sunak. Zelensky and Sunak discussed how to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses, just hours after Russia launched another airstrike against the country, killing five people and wounding 130, including children, kyivindependent.com reported.

Moscow fired at least 99 rockets at Kiev, the surrounding region and Kharkiv yesterday morning, Tuesday, January 2nd. According to the Air Force, Ukrainian air defense shot down 72 Russian missiles as well as all 35 Shahed drones launched overnight. Zelelnsky and Sunak also discussed the long-range strike capabilities of the Ukrainian armed forces and other urgent needs for weapons and ammunition. According to the Ukrainian presidential office, the phone call also discussed a bilateral agreement between Kiev and London on security guarantees for Ukraine, the next meeting on Zelensky's peace formula and the global peace summit proposed by the Ukrainian president. Kiev needs an immediate solution as Vladimir Putin flaunts his entire arsenal.
