War between bikers and street gangs: A possible explosive object discovered in Lévis

During a search related to drug trafficking, authorities discovered a likely explosive object in a house in Saint-Jean-Chrysostome on Thursday morning.

The operation of some magnitude initiated by the ACCÈS Cannabis group began late in the morning in a residence on Rue Jorcan.

According to our information, the residents of the house that was searched are connected to the conflict between bikers and street gangs.

“The special thing is that we found a device that resembles an explosive. The Sûreté du Québec fireworks display and a dog handler are therefore on site,” explains Jean-Sébastien Levan, spokesman for the Lévis City Police Department (SPVL).

A lot of back and forth

“It was the police who suddenly woke me up this morning, screaming and breaking down the door to the apartment below. “The tenant wasn't there, he came and went a lot,” said Anne D'Ostie, a neighbor above the searched property.

“Here we see that we don’t necessarily know our neighbors. I could have jumped!” she adds.

Although we claim not to know the person in question well, the situation in the industry is surprising. Most of the residents of the apartment building know each other and even meet regularly.

“It is worrying because it is a very quiet area. But the people who lived there were a bit strange,” emphasizes another neighbor.

She, like the building's concierge, claims that the police have had to intervene in this location several times in recent months.

Another bomb

Another residence, this time near Place des Îles in Saint-Lambert-de-Lauzon, was also searched at the same time. In both cases, however, the exact nature of the attack is not yet known.

There are currently no arrests in this case.

Remember that almost two weeks ago the SPVL also discovered an explosive device in the Walmart in Saint-Romuald. It was a search of a nearby vehicle that led authorities to inspect the business as a precaution.

The four people involved in this story had all been arrested. They had a bulletproof vest, items resembling firearms and crossbows, an electric pulse gun and cayenne pepper.
