German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius announced a new 400 million euro military aid package for Ukraine, but did not lift the reservation demanded by Kiev against sending Taurus missiles.
The Kiev army claims to have “broken through” the Russian defensive line at Bakhmut despite the use of “some of the enemy’s best-prepared units.” Three of these Russian units would be destroyed: the 72nd Motorized Rifle Brigade, the 31st and the 83rd Air Assault Brigades. Ukraine: Drone attack on Lviv, explosions heard
Some drones attacked the city of Lviv in western Ukraine overnight, where explosions were heard. The city’s mayor, Andriy Sadoviy, announced that a warehouse had been set on fire. The hum of the first waves of drones could be heard at 3:30 a.m. A France Presse reporter heard numerous explosions and movements of heavy vehicles on the streets during the nighttime curfew.
